For whooping cough, take 1 teaspoon (5 mL) every hour at the beginning of treatment. As the severity and frequency of coughing lessen, take every 2 hours. For non-specific catarrhal coughs, take 1 teaspoon 4 to 6 times daily. For acute bronchitis and laryngopharyngitis, take 1 teaspoon every 2 to 3 hours.
